Nice use of the machine illustration. I listened to a solid sermon on Romans 12:1 this past Lord's Day. I had always thought that this verse was referring primarily to the individual. However, there is a plural use in the Greek. There is a corporate aspect. We are to worship God together. There is no maverick Christianity! A stick that has been pulled from the fire will quickly be quenched. Hence, we are to offer our bodies as living sacrifices--together.

Great Comment! It is so crucial that people do begin to see that worship is THE WHOLE MACHINE...even preaching is another one of those cogs that christian pop-culture decides to separate as a different entity contrary to 'worship'...I hope your comment echoes in even more detail on the significance of what was mentioned! I always love talking to you about things like this! thanks bro!

Great article, Kaleb.

I think you're onto something but are missing an important part. The reason people do not truly worship through faith-based obedience is because they (and many preachers as well) do not view preaching as worship. They do not see the importance of the indicatives, the facts, of faith. It is all emotion-based for them, and since they have failed to engage the mind then the emotions fade and the will is never involved. Just a thought worth pondering.

Love you, brother.
